Work Safely in Draft Mode¶
An agenda remains a draft until Published is selected. schoolboard.net recommends saving and reviewing the agenda in Draft Mode rather than keeping unsaved work in Preview.
Draft Mode settings¶
- Visibility: Private
- Notifications: Unchecked
- Published: Unchecked
These settings allow the agenda to be saved repeatedly without making it public or sending notifications.
Recommended review process¶
- Clone a template or begin a new agenda.
- Confirm the three Draft Mode settings.
- Save frequently while editing.
- Open and review the saved draft.
- Ask another authorized administrator to review it when district procedure requires a second review.
- Revise and save again as needed.
- Publish only after the agenda and all attachments are approved.
Why Draft Mode is safer than Preview¶
- Work is preserved after every save.
- You may leave and return later.
- Another authorized administrator can review the saved draft.
- Review uses the actual saved content rather than an unsaved in-memory preview.
- The agenda remains unavailable to the public.
- No notification is sent accidentally.
Preview is an administrator view
Preview does not simulate the anonymous public view. After publication, sign out and open the agenda as a public visitor.
Check all three settings
Private visibility alone does not define Draft Mode. Confirm that Notifications and Published are also unchecked.
