Work Safely in Draft Mode

An agenda remains a draft until Published is selected. schoolboard.net recommends saving and reviewing the agenda in Draft Mode rather than keeping unsaved work in Preview.

Draft Mode settings

  • Visibility: Private
  • Notifications: Unchecked
  • Published: Unchecked

These settings allow the agenda to be saved repeatedly without making it public or sending notifications.

  1. Clone a template or begin a new agenda.
  2. Confirm the three Draft Mode settings.
  3. Save frequently while editing.
  4. Open and review the saved draft.
  5. Ask another authorized administrator to review it when district procedure requires a second review.
  6. Revise and save again as needed.
  7. Publish only after the agenda and all attachments are approved.

Why Draft Mode is safer than Preview

  • Work is preserved after every save.
  • You may leave and return later.
  • Another authorized administrator can review the saved draft.
  • Review uses the actual saved content rather than an unsaved in-memory preview.
  • The agenda remains unavailable to the public.
  • No notification is sent accidentally.

Preview is an administrator view

Preview does not simulate the anonymous public view. After publication, sign out and open the agenda as a public visitor.

Check all three settings

Private visibility alone does not define Draft Mode. Confirm that Notifications and Published are also unchecked.
